Dear friends and fellow ISSOL members,
At the general business meeting in Beijing last June, the ISSOL Executive Council announced the results of a vote (the result of considered debate) regarding the possibility of a name change for ISSOL. The heart of the discussion centered upon the intrinsic value to our society of embracing the field of astrobiology by including the term “astrobiology” in some form in our name. The decision rested upon several factors:
